Advanced Analysis of Biosensor Data for SARS-CoV-2 RBD

Surface plasmons are the quanta of surface charge density oscillation [ 2 ] likewise the collective oscillations in electron density at surface of metal whose propagation is confined to metal dielectric interface. Here we present a novel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor for the rapid and quantitative detection of PAPP-A2 in blood samples. This biosensor uses a single surface referencing approach and a sandwich assay with functionalized gold nanoparticles for signal enhancement. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is a label-free detection method which has emerged during the last two decades as a suitable and reliable platform in clinical analysis for biomolecular interactions. The technique makes it possible to measure interactions in real-time with high sensitivity and without the need of labels. This review article discusses a wide range of applications in optical Optical Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors represent the most advanced and developed optical label‐free biosensor technology.

The system detects the binding reaction in real time by monitoring changes in mass concentration at the chip surface; the association and dissociation rate constants are determined directly from the reaction traces. In this study, we report the development of a nanoparticle-enhanced biosensor by integrating both the nanoparticles and immunoassay sensing technologies into a phase interrogation surface plasmon resonance (SPR) system for detecting antigen at a concentration as low as the femtomolar range. Optical Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors represent the most advanced and developed optical label‐free biosensor technology. Optical SPR biosensors are a powerful detection and analysis tool that has vast applications in environmental protection, biotechnology, medical diagnostics, drug screening, food safety and security. Among the reported optical biosensors, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors show a number of significant advantages over more conventional biosensors, including real-time sensing, label-free detection, fast response and ultra-high refractive index sensitivity.

Opt. 58, 8416-8422 (2019) In the present scenario, biosensors have increased their detection limit and sensitivity unthinkable until a few years ago. The most widely used biosensors are optical-based devices such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based biosensors and fluorescence-based biosensors. The Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) biosensor is a type of biosensor which is very powerful for detecting and determining the specificity, affinity, and kinetic parameters of macromolecular bonds.
